a london taxi driver who once delivered me to the pied-a-terre after an evening of libation in plentitude, showed gratitude for the gratuity with the following words "thank you sir, you're a real gent". a celebration of the bespoke, the traditional, the flavoursome, the unusual and the enjoyable things, items and people that make life great.

when the eve of all hallows arrives practically everyone turns to the scissors and the ketchup bottle to accessorise their outfits. last evening i had the pleasure of accompanying the good lady to a celebration of our friend belinda’s birthday. simon carter had naturally accented his fine ensemble with some of his seasonal cufflinks. i challenged him to a perudo duel to see if i could prise them from his cuffs but the witching hour arrived before we could commence. somehow the links ended up coming home with me anyway!  many thanks to simon, a true gent.
